✱
Over nearly three decades, I’ve worked alongside organisations across local government, health, education and the community sector in Australia and the UK, helping them tackle complex challenges, make difficult decisions and set a clear direction for the future. My work spans everything from strategic planning and organisational change to engagement, governance and leadership - always grounded in the realities of how organisations actually operate.
While I’m widely known for my expertise in community engagement, engagement has never been the end goal. It is the way in. Listening, involving and building trust with people creates better information, better decisions and better outcomes - but the real work is what comes next. Strategy.
Every project you’ll see here ends not with a report that gathers dust, but with practical frameworks, plans and ways of working that help organisations move forward with confidence. These case studies show how I bring together people, insight and systems thinking to create strategies that are not just written, but lived.

Becky is currently leading the full end-to-end strategic planning process to create the Council’s new 4-year Strategic Plan - from visioning to final strategy. She has designed a process that is bringing Elected Members, staff, young people, community leaders and peak bodies into meaningful contribution at every stage.
With hundreds of insights synthesised into crystal-clear priorities, goals and actions, the final plan is shaping up to reflect a truly collective direction - ready for delivery, not a document on a shelf. Watch this space for project completion!

The Contracts & Procurement Team at Adelaide Primary Health Network were ready to reset and align their culture and work practices. Becky conducted 1-to-1 interviews across the team and delivered two group workshops - incorporating psychological safety and future-focused behavioural agreements.

Becky led the independent stakeholder engagement that underpinned the formation of the Adelaide Economic Development Board and the development of its founding Charter. Working across business, tourism, property, investment, precincts and industry bodies, she designed and facilitated a series of city-wide strategic roundtables and surveys that brought together 52 senior stakeholders to define the purpose, functions, governance model and operating principles of the new subsidiary.
The result was a robust, stakeholder-owned blueprint for how Adelaide would coordinate its economic leadership, align its partners and move decisively from fragmented activity to a unified, strategic business model for the city.

She analysed hundreds of inputs and worked directly with key stakeholders to turn them into a bold, community-written Vision and priorities framework for long-term growth and transformation.

Becky led the statewide reform conversations that informed South Australia’s Landscapes Act - working with the Minister’s office to plan and facilitate 60 participatory forums across the state and engaging groups often missing from policy conversations. Strategy can feel abstract - Becky flipped that by asking the entire community a simple but powerful question: “What are your top 3 priorities for the future of Playford?” The project generated vast civic input during COVID through mini-meets, digital tools and a strategic ideas wall.
Becky synthesised contributions into an actionable priorities framework that guided Council’s 4-year planning cycle.

Becky worked with the District Council of Yankalilla to embed community engagement as a practical, organisation-wide way of working, not just a policy on paper. The project produced a clear and usable Connecting with Our Community Framework that put people at the centre of everyday decisions, supported by three simple but powerful tools: a set of 10 Commandments of Community Engagement that set behavioural expectations for staff and elected members, a Decision-Making Engagement Calculator that helps teams determine when and how to involve the community, and a Communication & Listening Tools Menu that shows staff the full range of digital, face-to-face and paper-based ways they can listen and communicate.
Together, these tools gave Yankalilla a shared language, a consistent decision-making process and the confidence to engage proportionately and meaningfully - ensuring community connection became part of how the organisation operates, not an optional extra.
